Prefabricated granite counters do not require a full template - instead, exact measurements are taken to determine sink and/or cooktop cut-out placement. These measurements can be taken over existing countertop surfaces. The sink needs to be on location so we can use the sink template provided by the manufacturer to fabricate the sink cutout at the shop.
Raw granite slab fabrication requires that a full template be prepared with existing countertops removed. Any cooktop must be detached and cabinets need to be installed. The range and manufacturer’s sink template both need to be on location.
After exact measurements are taken for the prefabricated granite counters or a full template is made for raw granite slab fabrication, we require a 10% deposit based on the estimate price.
The homeowner or designated decision-maker must be present during the template process. This person will have to answer questions in regards to seaming, corner radius, overhangs and any special design factors on the island, etc. It is therefore recommended that this person be familiar with the granite project.
Installation of granite does not include removal of old tops unless our estimate provides for tearout services. If we are installing your new granite counters in an existing kitchen, there may be unfinished areas of your wall or cabinets that will be exposed and / or covered by your new granite counters. We do not finish these areas. |
